The Story of Andy's Seasoning, Inc.
Andy's Seasoning, Inc., based in St Louis, Missouri, was founded in 1981 when a couple named Katherine and Reuben “Andy” Anderson created their own barbecue sauce and began serving it to friends and family. After rave reviews, and the encouragement of friends to sell their recipe commercially, the Andersons began mixing and bottling Andy’s Barbeque Sauce out of the kitchen of their home.
When the sauce became a success, the Andersons expanded their product line into fish and chicken breading from recipes also developed by Mrs. Anderson. After more positive feedback and even better sales, the Andersons decided to sell the breading mixes exclusively and drop the barbecue sauce.
The Andersons exemplify the American Dream: a husband and wife team who started out with little and became a success by staying true to themselves and their beliefs. After Mr. Anderson passed away in 1996, Mrs. Anderson could have sold the business but decided to continue on with her seasoning empire. She furthered her education, took a business that was already profitable and turned it into a solid nationwide food manufacturer to be reckoned with.
She didn’t stop there. Today, the company offers eight different seasoning products, all of them based on the taste of down-home Southern cooking. But even those who weren’t raised on Southern cuisine should enjoy the zesty flavors of Andy’s Seasoning breadings and mixes.

Andy’s Seasoning offers a scrumptious cornmeal-based fish-fry breading. But Mrs. Anderson takes the basic recipe a step further by adding Hungarian paprika. Paprika gives the cornmeal breading a subtle but noticeable zing which is perfect for fried fish.
Andy's Seasoning also offers a Cajun breading and a Hot “N” Spicy breading for those who like their chicken and fish with a little extra kick. These people won’t need any hot sauce if they prepare their favorite dishes with these zesty products!
Always looking for ways to improve the flavors of fried food, Andy's has added two other special mixtures to their product line: Tempura Fish Fry Batter and Vegetable Fry Breading. Tempura Fish Fry Batter is ideal for those who prefer the light-coating of tempura to the heavier texture of cornmeal.
Vegetable Fry Breading, which is cornmeal based, has just the right spices to bring out the flavor of vegetables. This is for folks who love the taste of fried tomatoes, mushrooms, onion rings, zucchini, squash, okra, green beans or any other vegetable.
