Southern Fried Catfish

Ingredients

 

10 oz. Andy’s Red or Yellow breading

3 lbs. fresh fish fillets (catfish) or fish of your choice

Vegetable oil for frying – Use caution when cooking with hot oil!

 

Directions

 

  • Wash fish with cold water and lightly pat dry, leaving fish moist.
  • In heavy sauce pan, heat ½ inch oil to 375° F.
  • Pour Andy Yellow Fish Breading into plastic bag or bowl.
  • Add a few pieces of fish to breading and coat thoroughly.
  • Let the fish sit in breading for 5 minutes.
  • Gently place fish in hot oil, a few pieces at a time.
  • Fry 3-5 minutes on each side.
  • Remove from oil and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

 

*Serve with your favorite cole slaw, french fries, spaghetti, hush puppies or soft rolls.  Garnish with pickles, onion and hot sauce.
