Wash your fish and pat it lightly dry, leaving it slightly moist so the breading sticks. Pour Andy's breading into a plastic bag or bowl, add the fish, and shake or roll until thoroughly coated. Let the breaded fish rest for about 5 minutes so the crust sets, then fry in 375°F oil for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and serve.

Both are seasoned cornmeal-based fish breadings. Yellow is our original recipe with a classic, mild seasoning. Red adds paprika for a deeper color and a slightly bolder, more savory flavor. Many longtime fans mix the two 50/50 — the famous 'red and yellow mix' — for the best of both.

Yes. Coat your fish or chicken as usual, spray lightly with cooking oil, and air-fry or bake until the coating is golden and the protein reaches a safe internal temperature (145°F for fish, 165°F for chicken). Note that baking and air-frying keep more of the seasoning on the food, so the flavor and heat will be a little more intense than deep frying.

No. The breading includes black pepper and red pepper for a mild flavor and the Red Fish Breading has Paprika for color. These ingredients add flavor but minimal amount of heat. If you fry the product some spiciness will be lost in the process. Please make sure when Baking or Broiling the mild spiciness will be present.

MSG is a flavor enhancer used in many products found in the market. We understand that MSG may be a sensitive ingredient to some people and we offer a NO MSG Red Fish Breading however, the NO MSG product is processed on the same equipment as products containing MSG.

Both varities of chicken breading contain red pepper. The hot & spicy chicken breading also contains a spice extractive that adds more heat. Frying the chicken breadings will lessen the impact of the heat/spicyness as you will lose some of the spices in the cooking process. Baking or broiling will give you a more intense flavor as the spices will not be lost in the process. You may add a ½ cup of flour to Andy’s Chicken breading if you would like to minimize the spiciness.

Andy’s products can be stored at ambient temperatures (72*F or lower) similar to other household products like flour or corn meal. The product may also be stored in a zip lock bag and refrigerated or placed in the freezer, this will maintain the product shelf life.

Andy’s shelf life is 30 months from production date. We do not recommend using the product beyond the shelf life date. Please note, storage conditions must be followed, breading should be kept in a cool dry area and sealed.

The products do contain salt. The degree of saltiness depends upon the person consuming the product. We offer a Low Sodium Red Fish Breading option. This option contains Potassium Chloride as a partial alternative to Sodium Chloride (salt). Consumers who are on blood pressure medication will need to monitor and/or limit potassium intake.

The lot number contains the date of manufacture and the batch number. For example 07251902 was manufactured on July 25, 2019 and it was the second batch made on that day.

All of our product contain gluten with the exception of our Seasoned Salt which is processed on the same equipment as all other products containing gluten therefore, the Seasoned Salt may contain trace amounts of gluten.

Yes. Andy’s products contain wheat.

No. Andy’s does not contain any preservatives or animal sources.

No. However all the ingredients used in manufacturing come from Halal certified suppliers.
